VCHS Announces Scholarship Opportunity for 2025 Seniors Pursuing a Career in Mental Health

The Tyler Adkins Memorial Fund Scholarship – Mental Health was established in 2024 to honor the memory of Tyler Adkins. The purpose of this scholarship program is to provide financial support for students pursuing a career in the field of mental health, which is in dire need of more professionals.

Tyler was a Valley Central student and was set to graduate in 2023. He was accepted into a Business Marketing program and was committed to play lacrosse for a DIII university. Tyler will always be remembered for his infectious smile and willingness to help others.

Requirements for Consideration:
• Applicants must be residents of the Valley Central School District.
• Candidates must be Valley Central High School seniors.
• Applicants must be enrolled in a full-time post-secondary program (college, university or technical school) and will be pursuing a degree in the mental health field starting in the Fall of 2025.
• An essay with approximately 500 words and 2 letters of recommendation must accompany the application.
• Award amount will be one $1,000 scholarship.
• Applications will be reviewed by the Tyler Adkins Memorial Scholarship Board of Directors.
• Deadline to submit is May 15, 2025.
