To Parents/Guardians:
I hope you were able to relax and enjoy some time with family and friends over the summer break. We have been working hard to prepare for what we expect to be an exciting and successful school year!
● The first day of school is Thursday, September 5, 2024.
● We will be operating on an A-E day schedule. Specials and support services will rotate based on the letter day. For example, the first day of school for children is a Thursday, but it is also an A-Day. If
school is closed due to a holiday or cancellation, the letter day rolls over to the next day students are in school. Special Area schedules will be provided on the first day of school and again during Open House.
As a reminder, our instructional program begins promptly at 9:15 a.m. and concludes at 3:25 p.m. Students are permitted to enter the building at 9:00 a.m. We ask that students do not arrive before 9:00 a.m. as supervision is not available. However, students having breakfast may enter through the main
entrance at 8:45 am.
Busing information will be sent via post card to families identifying bus stop location, pick-up and drop-off times. Please use this information as a guide for your child’s busing schedule. Also, for parents/guardians of bus students, there will be no unsupervised home drop off for students in grades K-2.
If you are picking up your child/ren at dismissal, please use the parking lot located near the student playground and be prepared to show your photo identification to staff. Also, please provide written notice to your child’s teacher and/or the main office, if there are any changes to your child’s dismissal on any given day.
Open House will be held on Wednesday, September 18th from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Additional information will be provided soon. We will continue to communicate with families weekly through the MES News/Updates email sent at 5:00 p.m. every Friday and the use of Thursday folders. Mrs. Werner (Assistant Principal)
