Title: Team Leaders (K-8)

 Role Description:  We are seeking a dedicated and experienced, highly effective teacher to take on the role of Team Leader.  This person is responsible for providing leadership, coordination, and support to teaching staff with their assigned grade level teams.  The role aims to enhance instructional quality and student achievement by fostering collaboration among teachers, aligning curriculum with NYS learning standards, and implementing effective culturally responsive teaching strategies. 

 

Reports to:  Building Administrative team and the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction

 Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification
  • Minimum of three to five years of teaching experience (preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to communicate effectively and collaboratively with people of diverse backgrounds including administrators, teachers, staff, parents, guardians, and students.

  Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Meets with the principal or assistant principal on a monthly basis and as needed, after school
  2. Serves as a liaison between grade level teachers and school administration/personnel
  3. Provides instructional leadership that is supportive of a coherent curriculum, and reflects the philosophy of the NYS Learning Standards and district goals. *In collaboration with Department Chair where applicable

Title: Department Chair

Role Description: We are seeking a dedicated, experienced, highly effective teacher to serve as a Department Chair. This individual will be a member of the Ed Council Team and will provide instructional leadership focused on curriculum development and pedagogical practices that foster strong interpersonal connections, culturally responsive learning experiences, and equitable access to high-quality instruction for all students. The Department Chair is responsible for leading and managing the department, supporting faculty growth, and ensuring high academic standards aligned to district and New York State expectations.

Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification
Minimum of four to five years of teaching experience in content-specific secondary education (preferred)

Regularly share relevant professional learning and in-service opportunities
Collaborate with the Principal and Guidance Department on student and teacher scheduling.

CSE Chairperson(Teacher on Special Assignment)

The Valley Central School District is seeking candidates for a CSE Chairperson (Teacher on Special Assignment) position. This is a full-time 10-month position. Valid NYS Certification (Special Education, Students with Disabilities, Speech and Language Disabilities, or School Psychologist) is required. Teacher Mentor

Title:  Valley Central Teacher Mentor

Role Description:

We are seeking passionate and dedicated Teacher Mentors to join our district mentor pool. Individuals selected through this interview process will serve in the mentor pool for a two-year term and may be assigned mentees during the 2026-2027 and/or 2027-2028 school years, based on district and mentee needs.  

Our mentor team supports the growth and development of our teaching staff. As a Teacher Mentor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our educators by providing guidance, training, and support. You will work closely with both new and experienced teachers to enhance their teaching skills, foster professional growth and interpersonal relationships, as well as create a positive learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education, excellent communication skills, and a genuine desire to empower others.

Note:  All individuals appointed to the district mentor pool will be considered when making mentor/mentee assignments so that pairings best support new teachers whenever possible. Appointment to the mentor pool does not guarantee a mentor assignment each school year.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Mentorship: Provide ongoing guidance, support, and encouragement to assigned mentees, helping them navigate challenges and leverage opportunities to improve instructional pedagogy and classroom practice.  
  • Training and Development: Work with mentees to identify professional goals, interests, and areas for growth.  Develop and facilitate training sessions, workshops, and professional development opportunities to enhance teachers’ knowledge and expertise in various areas of education, including topics outlined in the mentoring program section of the district’s professional learning plan. 
  • Curriculum Support: Assist teachers in developing and implementing effective lesson plans, instructional strategies, and assessment methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Resource Sharing: Share educational resources, teaching materials, and best practices with mentees to enhance instructional repertoire and enrich student learning experiences.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with school leadership, fellow mentors, colleagues and/or community members to coordinate mentorship initiatives, align teaching practices and promote a culture of continuous improvement.  Foster connections and collaborations with educational experts, organizations and community partners to stay abreast of current trends, research and innovations in education.
  • Teacher Support: Serve as a resource and sounding board for teachers, offering guidance, encouragement, and practical solutions to address challenges, overcome obstacles, foster positive relationships and support a positive working environment.  Serve as an advocate and ally for mentees, advocating for their professional needs, interests, and well-being within the school community and beyond.  Facilitate reflective discussions and self-assessment activities with mentees to promote reflective practices.  

Qualifications:  Must be tenured VC Faculty in good standing to apply.

      Position Overview:

      The Valley Central School District is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to provide services during the Extended School Year (ESY) program. Services will be delivered in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and may include homebound instruction settings.

      Responsibilities:

      • Provide physical therapy services as mandated on student IEPs
      • Conduct sessions in ESY program locations and/or home settings as assigned
      • Maintain accurate service logs and session documentation in compliance with NYSED and district requirements
      • Collaborate with the Committee on Special Education (CSE), related service providers, and families as appropriate
      • Participate in progress monitoring and contribute to required reporting

      Qualifications:
