Teachers planning to discuss controversial issues in class must ensure objectivity by making a competent effort to research and present varying opinions on each controversial topic. It is suggested that teachers who are discussing and presenting controversial issues carefully preview all audio-visual aids and seek the advise and expertise of colleagues, department chairpersons, and/or Building Principals.
