Parent conferences are a vital part of education. Teachers have a responsibility to meet with parents to discuss the progress of their children. It is best to schedule these conferences to discuss the teachers’ general observations about the students’ social and academic progress, rather than waiting for a disciplinary or remedial problems.
Each teacher at the elementary level shall meet with the parents of his/her students during the first semester each school year. Parent conferences at the secondary level shall occur as requested by either parent or teacher.
