The Board of Education recognizes that educational alternatives are necessary for some students. Therefore, the district may provide alternative school programs for students identified as in need of such programs.
The alternative educational programs should be appropriate for the individual student, and based upon the recommendation from the pupil service team and/or the Committee on Special Education (CSE). These recommendations may include:
- altering in-school academic programs;
- other agency programs suited to the students need;
- home tutoring;
- home teaching by telephone;
- CSE consideration;
- Community as School Program;
- evening high school; or
- other alternative programs.
