The Board of Education believes that detention is an effective method to address behavior issues of students. Students may be assigned detention in accordance with the Code of Conduct. Staff shall notify the student’s parent/guardian that their student has been assigned detention prior to the detention being served. Detention must be scheduled at a time that ensures transportation can be made available for the student who is assigned a detention. The teacher/administrator supervising the detention period will be responsible for dismissing the student in time for such transportation.
