From Aug. 23 through Aug. 25, the newest Valley Central School District teachers gathered at the Homewood Suites by Hilton in Newburgh, New York for the district’s annual Viking Induction Program (VIP). Over the course of three days, new and second-year teachers at the district participated in a host of programs, trainings and presentations from the Valley Central administrative team and veteran teachers.
The VIP is an annual event helps to familiarize both new teachers, and teachers who are new to Valley Central with the district’s departments, resources and services in addition to professional development topics such as classroom management and parental communications.
“Establishing the building blocks for the success of our new teachers is a top priority at Valley Central,” Interim Superintendent of Schools John Xanthis said. “I am very excited to welcome our new teachers to the Valley Central School District community and I have such a high regard for the extraordinary educators and administrators who presented to our newest colleagues with confident, compassion and school pride.”
