On May 4, students from Valley Central Middle School were celebrated during the school’s annual Student Recognition Dinner.
The event is sponsored by VC Spirit, an organization within the school that aims to build a sense of “Viking pride” among VCMS students with events such as Red Ribbon Week, the Pasta for Pennies Campaign and the eighth-grade slideshow.
Each spring, VC Spirit asks all staff to nominate a student whom they feel brings something special to the school. Because the recognition is based upon individual accomplishments, a diverse group of students are nominated. Each nominee is then invited to the Recognition Dinner and receives a certificate and a balloon, which symbolizes their spirit. Middle school staff cook and serve the food at the event, and members of VC spirit help with host/hostess duties.
Congratulations to all student honorees!
