Monday, May 2, Valley Central School District celebrated its 19th
annual “Day of Remembrance.” The Day of Remembrance was established by the
board of education in 1997 as a tribute to personal friends, colleagues and
relatives who have passed away. Each year, a moment of silence is held, and a
special tree, bush or flowers are planted in one of the district’s buildings.
This year, planters were installed at the district’s central office. The
ceremony started with a performance by students from Berea Elementary School’s
band and chorus.
